How to reach Florence
The Pisa airport 'Galileo Galilei' is well connected to Florence via train. Many airlines operate international flights to Pisa (Air France, British Airways, Finnair, Norwegian, Air Dolomiti, Ryanair, Transavia, Delta, Iberia, Bellehair, Lufthansa, Jet2, EasyJet, Transavia, TUI, Vueling). It is also reachable with Alitalia through Milano Malpensa or Rome Fiumicino.
How to reach the centre of Florence
You can either take a taxi (about 15 minutes, depending on traffic condition) or take the SITA-ATAF shuttle 'Vola in bus' leaving every 30 minutes (6.00 a.m., 6.30 a.m., ...) from 6.00 to 20.00 and every hour from 20.00 to 23.00 . The bus stop is located outside the arrival hall (the ticket costs 5 euro and can be purchased on board as well as inside the airport).
From Pisa airport 'Galileo Galilei':
Galileo Galilei Airport is about 80 kilometers from Florence. The easiest way to reach Florence from Galilei airport is by train (about one every hour). You may have to change the train at Pisa Centrale. Passengers of low cost airlines (like Ryanair) can also use the nonstop shuttle bus Terravision from Pisa Airport to Firenze Santa Maria Novella (cost of the ticket 10 euro, approximately 1 hour is needed).
From other airports:
You need to get to the train Station Firenze Santa Maria Novella by train.
Details about public transportation can be found on the ATAF web page. Bus tickets can be bought at newspaper kiosks and at tobacco shops.
Taxis
Taxis are expensive. Expect to pay up to 30 euros for the way from the airport to the city centre. Useful phone numbers to reserve a taxi are: +39-055-4390, +39-055-4499, +39-055-4798, +39-055-4242.
Don't forget:
How to reach the workshop location (Convitto della Calza)
From the station: take one of the following ATAF buses:
36 (to Mulino Nuovo) or 37 (to Galluzzo/Tavarnuzze) and
get off in
Piazza della Calza .
The Hotel Convitto della Calza faces the
piazza at no. 6.
By car:
from the A1 tollway, exit at "Firenze Certosa" and follow the signs for
